The RISAM® sharpening stones are made from professional grade white corundum (Al2O3), corrosion-resistant, heat-resistant, with edges and corners clearly demarcated.
Ideal for sharpening Japanese knives, Damascus knives or other high hardness knives.

The coarse side 1000 grit refreshes the edge of the knife in order to be prepared or finer grinding. The fine side 6000 grit is ideal for finishing and polishing the edge, and perfect for light touch-ups to an already sharp edge. Edge is very close to perfect.
1. Soak the stone in the water for 5 minutes, and then put it on a steady platform. Sharpening the knives with one or two steps is decided by the degree of blunt tool.
Step 1: 1000 grit coarse grit, used to repair the semi dull edge.
Hold the knife at an angle of 10° - 20°, depending on the knife's angle and grind the edge on the surface of the stone back and forth with gentle pressure. Keep sharpening it until the edge is sharp enough.
After sharpening the tool, it needs to be honed with coarse grinding after half a year. Also depends on the specific situation.
Step 2: 6000 grit is for the fine grinding, a necessary step to eliminate burrs of the edge.
Use more gentle pressure, repeat step 1, and repair the edge smoothly and keenly.
2.Wipe it with wet cloth or rinse it with water after sharpening the tool, and then dry it. Clean the stone surface with a soft brush and put it in the air to make it dry.
Generally speaking, use it once a month to keep your blade sharp.
