The beautiful Mcusta Zanmai Forest Molybdenum 9 cm Petty knife is ideal for kitchen tasks that are too small for a chef’s knife.
AUS 8 is a stainless steel produced by Aichi Steel Corporation of Japan, with a relatively low carbon content, with very good resistence to rust and very good sharpening behavior.
Mcusta Zanmai Forest Molybdenum series are made of AUS 8 (a.k.a.Molybdenum Vanadium 8A Stainless steel). More than that, the monosteel blade surface is processed with Hairline finish by revolutionary technique and accuracy, which provides excellent rust resistance and a long-lasting edge.
The series name comes from the color of the handle, a deep forest green.
The knives of the series perform with a precision laser cut blade at 58±1 HRC Rockwell.
Like in every Mcusta Zanmai knife, the edge which can reach 9°, is finished in Zanmai's perfect Hamaguri V-Cut form, making it incredibly sharp.
Despite the medium alloy hardness, the quality of ZANMAI's manufacturing methods such as laser cutting and CNC milling** creates knives that are extremely sharp and consistently superior.
The transition from blade to handle is totally seamless. The sculptured ergonomic handles are made from green micarta, perfectly milled and attached to a full tang with three strong rivets. The Zanmai signature heel plate gives this budget series a luxurious feel and an additional balance.
Mcusta Zanmai Forest Molybdenum knives perform at a high level with a distinct and signature look and a relatively low price comparing to their quality.
We do consider it as one of the top value-for-money choices.
Knives from this series are handcrafted in Seki, Japan and always come packed in a gift box.
